Gold jewellery stolen

A burglar broke into a Smith's Parish residence sometime between 9 a.m. on Thursday and 1.30 p.m. stealing several items of gold jewellery.

The alarm was raised by a resident of the home in Morer Estate Road, who reported the break-in to Police in the early afternoon, claiming that an unknown person had gained access to the property and made off with the items.

Motorcyclist hurt

A 63-year-old motorcyclist was hurt when it appears he lost control at a bend on Harbour Road in Paget in the early hours of Friday and collided with a wall. The Sandys man suffered injuries to his face, hands and right shoulder as a result of the crash, which occurred at 1.25 a.m. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened as the motorcyclist was travelling west.

The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

He is currently being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The front of the motorbike was extensively damaged in the crash
