Staff sharpen computer skills

Almost half of all teachers and support staff at the Berkeley Institute successfully attained an international certification in computer skills.

The International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) course has been running at Berkeley since September, 2002 after the school attained ICDL training centre status in July, 2002.

Two Berkeley teachers, who are also ICDL certified trainers, facilitate the training sessions which are offered evenings and weekends.

Joann B. Adams, staff development coordinator said that "the dedication of the teachers is reflected in their enthusiasm and willingness to develop their skills outside of working hours."

Twenty five teachers, or 40 percent of the staff, have successfully completed the training, according to the school.
