The structural blaze on Berkeley Road was reported at 11:24 a.m. on Friday and Fire Services responded with two fire vehicles from Hamilton Fire Station, and one from Port Royal, said Lieutenant Anthony Caisey of Fire Services.
Two firefighters wearing self-contained breathing apparatus battled the blaze, which caused fire, heat and smoke damage to the one-bedroom apartment. No one was injured.
Fire Prevention Officers have been investigating, but Lieutenant Michael Mullan reported yesterday that investigators have been unable to discover the cause of ignition.
