Garland has to settle for second overall
Royal Academy of Golf International Golf Tournament in Orlando, but still finished second with a final round 74 on Thursday in the 19-21 age group.
Garland had scores of 74, 85, 75 and 74 for a 72-hole total of 308. Robbie Spurling continued his climb up the leader board with a 77 in the final round, leaving him in third place in the 16-18 category. Spurling's opening round of 88 wiped out all of his title hopes, but finished strongly with rounds of 80, 73 and 77 for a total 318. In the same division, Hywel Brown had rounds of 77, 93, 79 and 83 to grab seventh on 332.
In the 12-15 age group, David James and Justin Barritt both saved their worst for last when they each shot a disappointing 85. James finished in fourth place on 327 while Barritt was fifth after rounds of 81, 82, 81 and 85 for a total of 329.
