Tonight is last night for Destination Dockyard
Tonight is the final Destination Dockyard of the season and promoters have hailed the weekly event as an overwhelming success attracting thousands of visitors each Tuesday since it was launched in May.
The final event will be opened with speeches from representatives of the leading agencies that have worked to put on the summer of events and will be followed by entertainment from one of Bermuda?s most popular DJs Jugglin? And the evening, the last of the season, will be rounded off by a dance competition with the Warwick Gombeys and prizes have been donated by retail stores and restaurants at Dockyard.
There is late opening of shops within the Clock Tower Shopping Mall and a craft market, together with other activities such as fun castles, face painting, hair braiding, air-brush tattoos and jewellery.
Since May 16 the Chamber of Commerce-hosted festival has been sponsored by the Tourism Department, Wedco and Royal Caribbean International.
In a statement the Chamber of Commerce said: ?Since RCI is a sponsor this year, they have been promoting this event onboard to all of their passengers, which set the pace for the evening?s activities and entertainment.?
Tonight?s activities will begin with speeches from Department of Tourism director Cherie Whitter, Wedco general manager Lloyd Telford, Grandeur of the Seas cruise director Eric Dowis and Stephen Todd and Diane Gordon from the Chamber of Commerce.
