Elbow concierge receives Clef d?Or
A concierge from Elbow Beach Hotel was awarded membership into the Society of the Golden Keys of Great Britain.
Rochelle DeSilva was awarded the honour for her outstanding work.
?First, I was nominated for Best Concierge at the VIP Awards and now I receive this great honour,? she said.
?It is so wonderful to be recognised for a job I love.?
In order to qualify for membership in the Society applicants must be uniformed concierges in hotels of an acceptable standard for at least five years and be supported by two members of the Society. A rigorous interview by existing members is part of the quest for membership.
The first person to receive the honour also worked at Elbow Beach.
The Society is a professional organisation of concierges from around the world.
In 2002, Ms DeSilva was awarded the Best Concierge as part of the Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP) Awards. She was nominated again this year.
Ms DeSilva is also the second female in Bermuda to receive the distinction of Les Clef d?Or.
