Police warn against distributing ‘objectionable images’
Residents were yesterday reminded it’s illegal to distribute child pornography and other “objectionable images” via cell phone or social media.Persons who do so risk being arrested and prosecuted, a police spokesman said.“The Bermuda Police Service would once again like to make the public aware that distributing objectionable images of persons via cell phone and/or social media may result in the sender or the receiver being prosecuted,” he stated.“In particular, sending or possessing any child pornography or objectionable images of children is an offence punishable under the law.”Meanwhile, police arrested five people over the weekend for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested five people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at licensed premises.
