22-year-old man in critical condition

A 22-year-old Devonshire man remains listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit following an early morning single vehicle accident on Palmetto Road in Devonshire.Police and first responders arrived at the scene near the junction with Aeolia Drive around 2.15am on Monday to find the rider in “unresponsive state”. A police spokesman said “the motorcycle appeared to be travelling along Palmetto Road when it went off the road”.The motorcyclist was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial via ambulance. Witnesses or anyone with any information is urged to contact PC Wayne Sealy on 295-001 as inquiries continue.Meanwhile, another road traffic accident victim who was rushed to the hospital's emergency ward early Saturday morning and admitted to ICU, has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.A hospital spokeswoman said he has also been moved out of ICU to a surgical ward. The 32-year-old Southampton man sustained serious injuries in a single vehicle motorcycle collision around 2.30am on Saturday.The accident occurred on Middle Road in Southampton. Inquiries are continuing and witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Jerry Waterman on 295-0011.A police spokesman also said officers on patrol this past weekend arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants, and one person was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Police also conducted liquor license checks at various licensed premises around the island.
