Man stole from ex-girlfriend
who pleaded guilty to breaking and entering his ex-girlfriend's home and stealing over $100.
Magistrates' Court heard that Vance Wilson, of Spanish Point, entered Luanna Rawlins' home on Sousa Estate Drive around 11 p.m. on April 16 last year through a bedroom window. He removed nine dollars from a purse and $100 from an envelope in a dresser.
Prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said the relationship between Wilson and Rawlins ended in November, 1992. After spending the weekend at a girlfriend's house in mid-April, she returned to find her home had been broken into.
Wilson told the court he took the money for "spite''.
"I had lent her some money and I wanted that money back,'' he said. "She was giving me the runaround. I wanted to get that money so I could pay some bills.'' Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said: "I usually send people who break and enter to jail.
He ordered a social inquiry report and released Wilson on $500 bail. He is to reappear in Magistrates' Court on February 15.
