Tyrrell quits BFA post
Bermuda Football Association executive Craig Tyrrell has resigned from local soccer's governing body.
Tyrell, the son of former BFA president Neville Tyrell, had served in several administrative positions during the last six years, playing an instrumental role in both the Association's League and Cup Competitions and Special Events committees.
The former executive cited escalating family commitments as the primary reason for his resignation.
"Craig Tyrell has, in fact, resigned from the executive committee of the BFA for personal reasons," confirmed BFA general secretary David Sabir yesterday.
"He has been a valuable member of the BFA executive committee over the past six years and certainly was very instrumental in serving in several capacities."
Sabir said Tyrell's vacated post would be up for grabs at September's annual general meeting.
"Craig was responsible for such things as the BFA's All-Star Tournament and the Annual BFA prize presentation which has been an overall resounding success," added Sabir.
"He always ensured both the league and cup competitions ran smoothly for a number of years, and it is really sad to see him go.
"But because of the enormity of the task and the time needed to devote, he became unable to commit himself fully. And as such, he decided it best to resign from the executive committee."
