Stemedica Cell Technologies, Inc., an emerging specialty biopharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures best-in-class adult stem cell products, located in San Diego, California, is searching for a full time Lab Manager in Bermuda. The job will be conducted from the Brown-Darrell Clinic, a world class research facility located in Smith's Parish, Bermuda
Summary of Position
The Lab Manager will manage and maintain the company's lab and manufacturing process by providing technical, operational and administrative functions to support patient treatments with adult stem cells. The Lab Manager will be responsible for all on-site activities as well as managing a lab technician.
Qualified candidates will be self-motivated team players and shall have a minimum of three (3) years experience. The Lab Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations located at the company headquarters in San Diego and secondarily to the Vice President of Medical Research.
Compensation shall commensurate with Lab Manager's experience and/or work background experience. Position is to begin on or before December 1, 2007 and requires full time residency in Bermuda.
Responsibilities
* Manage the import of adult stem cells, and other medically-oriented supplies, from multiple international locations.
* Coordinate all communications and operational activities between the medical staff at the Brown-Darrell Clinic and Stemedica Cell Technologies
* Manage and maintain a clean, secure and safe lab facility as well as lab equipment troubleshooting.
* Cell preparations for clinical injections
* Conduct all in-house testing and sample submissions for quality control
* Organize, manage and coordinate all patient records. (As it pertains to Stemedica product utilization & relevant clinical case study information)
Qualifications and– Attributes
* Candidates must have previous experience in working in scientifically-based, medically-oriented laboratory.
* BS or Masters in cell biology is required, PhD/MD background is preferred.
* Technical and comprehensive knowledge of tissue culture, especially cell products.
* A minimum of three (3) years of tissue culture experience required, including supervisory experience.
