The man, who suffered bruises and swelling above his eye and at the back of his head, told Police the attack was unprovoked.

He said he was outside the club talking with a friend when he was `jumped on' by the men and beaten.

Police are investigating the assault and appealed for witnesses to step forward.

Police report a woman returned home to find a thief had forced entry and ransacked her bedroom sometime during the four hours she was out.

She told police a quantity of US cash, a Rolex watch, a 22 karat gold ring, a 22 karat gold ring with diamonds, a solitaire diamond, two 22 karat gold necklaces and a men's silver band Citizen watch were stolen.
