Talbot working hard for one-arm challenge in UK
One-Arm Championships in England in a confident mood and determined to improve on last year's disappointing performance.
Talbot, who won the championship in 1988 in England and '91 in Ireland, was eliminated in the first round last year by Dave Parsons after setting a record qualifying total of 151 (74, 77) for the two rounds.
"Right now this is about the best I've ever played,'' said Talbot who will be playing in his fifth championship.
"I've changed a couple of things and I'm really playing good.'' Talbot leaves next Thursday for the tournament which will be held at Seaford Golf Club just outside Brighton and returns on June 29.
The tournament runs from the 21st to 25th and at the end of it Talbot is hoping to bring home his third title. For the past three years his trips to Britain for the championships have been made possible by generous sponsorship.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those who have sponsored me and I'm looking forward to doing my best in representing my country, not only myself,'' said Talbot.
"I think I'm more confident this year because my whole game is together. This year I've worked on driving the ball better and that's going to be a big part of my game.'' this year.
"It's just a matter of keeping everything in order.''
