Canadian college honours Noel-Simmons
Trinity College, a leading Canadian boarding school, has established a rugby trophy in honour of Bermudian Devrae Noel-Simmons who died in January aged 45.
Noel-Simmons helped organise a number of rugby tours to the College in Port Hope, Ontario, making a lasting impression on his Canadian hosts.
The trophy, which is made from Bermuda cedar and Canadian cherry wood, features the following dedication: Devrae Noel Simmons (1968-2014) was a coach and mentor to young people in Bermuda and helped to organise several rugby tours to Trinity College School. This trophy honours his spirit and enthusiasm and will record the match results for touring rugby teams.”
Noel-Simmons, who was a lifetime athlete, playing semi-professional American football with the Oregon Thunderbolts and establishing himself as a bodybuilder before turning his attention to rugby, leaves behind his wife Sue, son Dante.
