Barbados teen?s murder trial to begin in New Year

A teenager accused of killing the two sons of a Bermuda Police officer is due to stand trial at the start of next year.

Yuri Fidel Agard is charged with the manslaughter of Justin and William Greene, aged 21 and 25, who died from stab wounds outside a Barbados nightclub in March.

Prosecutors in Barbados confirmed last night that the defendant appeared in court again yesterday. The 18-year-old's case was adjourned until January 16, when his trial is due to start.

In June, Agard, of Hutson Alley, Reed Street, St. Michael, Barbados, appeared at Magistrates' Court and was granted conditional bail in the sum of $50,000 with one surety.

Three other men - Jody Omar Farnum, Jason Stevenson Hurley and Chad Carlton Worrell, who are charged with violent disorder in connection with the same incident - have been granted conditional bail in the sum of $10,000 and one surety each.

Two other defendants accused of violent disorder, Kelvin A. Squires and Jamal Marlow Mayers, were released on bail after a previous hearing.

The Greene brothers lived in the St. Joseph's Parish of Barbados. They were the sons of Bermuda Police narcotics officer Det. Con. Ronald Greene and CedarBridge Academy teacher Margo Greene.
