Sandys SC strengthen title chances
First Division with a close-fought 3-2 victory over Warwick recently.
Leading the way was Roger Henderson of Sandys, who collected player-of-the-week honours for his role in the affair, which included a win against previously unbeaten Steve Dunleavy.
Also entering the winner's circle for the west enders were Lawrence DeSilva and Greg Falzone, while Wally Tucker and Steve Bremar claimed success for the losers.
In another nailbiting affair, Sandy Sandu made what turned out to be a vital 20-break in defeating Paul Charleton 58-12, helping Queens I to a favourable 3-2 result against Nationals.
Ed Gumbs and Steven Roberts accounted for the other Queens points. Tyler Moniz and Brian Walker garnered the points for Nationals.
The lone remaining First Division match witnessed Queens II following their sister side with a 3-2 win against Sandys Sports Club I.
Second Division player of the week Andy Wright won a tension-filled game against David Lampitt to spur Police to a 4-1 blasting of Old Colony Club III.
Other matches had Old Colony Club II beating St. George's 3-2 and Sandys Boat Club downing Spanish Point 3-2.
