Commercial Division group A with four teams changing positions in the standings.

Still, the picture became no more clearer as five teams remain perilously close to the relegation zone.

Exiles, last entering the weekend, helped their cause with the unlikeliest of heroes stepping forward to earn them a much-needed victory over KPMG, who were dumped into the cellar.

Little-used forward Dwayne Young came on late in the second half for Exiles with the score tied at 2-2 and notched a textbook chest-and-volley winner with three minutes left.

Earlier Exiles had gone ahead through Martin Siese only to have KPMG come back and take over the lead in the first half on tallies by Rob Newman and Eversley Lewis.

Player-coach Hugh Hollis equalised midway through the second half to set up the late heroics by Young.

Exiles now stand seventh on nine points, one ahead of KPMG and level with Somerset Extros who tumbled to a 5-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Spinning Wheel.

Two goals from Keith Bell and one apiece from Duval Minors, Chris Furbert and Quinton Ming more than offset the token efforts of Extros, whose only score came from Gary Darrell.

Meanwhile, Forties, who have spent their share of time in purgatory and no doubt sensing the direness of the current situation, lifted their level of play against second-place Robin Hood and were unlucky not to get both points.

Barry Hughes and Richard Bradbury handed Forties a 2-1 lead at the interval as Ray Morrison replied for Hood, but could not fend off their attackers in the second half, settling for a 2-2 draw after Tim Perry equalised.

Hood incurred one casualty as Peter Slater was sent off during the final period.

Having little difficulty were league leaders BAA Wanderers, who exposed the previously high-riding Island Rangers to be merely great pretenders in a 5-1 thrashing at BAA field.

Wanderers, in fact, scored all six goals, making their opponents wish they had never crossed Watford Bridge.

Steve Irvine led the way for the home side with two goals, followed by Andy Powell, Arthur Reilly and Eric Jones while Andy Chiappa suffered the ignominy of scoring in his own net.

In group B, North Village Rams still hold the cards in the promotion race after battling other hopefuls, Devonshire All-Stars, to a 3-3 stalemate.

Mike Levon (two) and John Tucker netted for Rams, while Earl Godfrey stroked a hat-trick in reply.

Other matches saw Lobster Pot and Valley draw 3-3 as Troy Smith (two) and Mike Evans scored for Pot and Kevin Issac, Kevin McNeil and Wayne Dears replied; Park United defeat Fire Service 3-1 and Genesis won by default over Prison Officers.

In Alliance Division group A play Dandy Town trounced PHC by an unbelievable score of 13-1, Devonshire Colts similarly blasted Hamilton Parish 10-5, while Somerset were unable to field a team against leaders North Village.

Group B had Boulevard down Devonshire Cougars 4-1, Prospect extinguish BAA 5-3, while St. David's won by default over Somerset Eagles.

PETER SLATER -- Sent off during final period.

MARKSMAN -- West Pembroke's Angelo Simons celebrates after scoring against Elliott Primary yesterday.
