Glimmer of hope for His House programme
with Government help, The Royal Gazette has learned.
Health Minister Nelson Bascome yesterday confirmed he had met with director of His House Ministries: "I spoke with Christine Atcheson today and she will be speaking with the landlady and get a brief extension.'' Mr. Bascome added: "And we will look at some properties next week.'' The news comes as the Christian-based drug rehabilitation programme's current crop of clients packed their belongings for a possible eviction on Monday.
It was revealed last month the elderly landowner had come under subtle pressure from Hamilton Parish neighbours and needed additional income in her retirement.
Mrs. Atcheson had admitted to fears that with a closure, clients might stumble in their recoveries and may return to a life of drug use.
