Fraudsters passing off dummy Bermuda and US currency are operating across the Island, Police warned yesterday.
Police are asking individuals and businesses, particularly retail staff, to remain vigilant for conmen attempting to buy items worth $20 or less with a $50 or $100 bill.
They should also beware of people attempting to change a $50 or $100 bill without buying anything.
For more information on how to tell genuine currency from counterfeit currency, visit the Bermuda Police Service website at www.bermudapolice.bm and go to Crime Prevention Info ? Counterfeit Currency.
