Opposition MP Kim Young has added her voice to calls for Islanders to buy locally to help stave off the recession.
The call was made by Chamber of Commerce President Charles Gosling at a public forum on Tuesday night.
Ms. Young said: "I support him. We can help the Island through recession by spending money on the Island.
"Purchase what we need in Bermuda to support the Bermudian retail sector instead of sending our money overseas, particularly as Christmas looms.
"Don't go on Christmas shopping trips with empty suitcases to fill or order from the Internet and catalogues. Support our local economy: Buy Bermuda!"
