A Smith’s man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The defendant, who can not be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty.

According to prosecutor Maria Sofianos the offence took place between a date unknown and February 26.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the defendant on $5,000 bail with one surety.

The defendant must hand over all travel documents and report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday.

He will reappear in court on September 23.
