Magazine to publish vacation planner
The first issue of Bermuda Magazine's Vacation Planner will hit some 3,000 news-stands across North America in April.
Bermuda Marketing Ltd. publisher Ian Coles said: "We are proud to be a part of the Island's tourism arrival.
"It is estimated that tens of millions of Americans now use vacation planners like ours to help them decide on where to go and how best to enjoy it.'' The new annual magazine-format publication will have an initial print run of 40,000 copies and will help "plug a major gap in the promotion of the Island's guest accommodations, shops, restaurants, night life and attractions''.
It will go out to news-stands in the Island's traditional tourism markets -- the Mid-Atlantic states, New England and Ontario -- and "in many areas which have little or no knowledge of Bermuda or its charms as a vacation destination'', said Mr. Coles.
The planner will retail for $3.95 and be available through to the end of the year.
It will incorporate the Family Guide, from Bermuda Magazine, as well as features on luxury vacations, bargain getaways, event-linked holidays, beaches, activities, shopping and cultural attractions.
