*** GEE BREEZES INTO NEW JOB AT TEMPEST APP Gee breezes into new job at Tempest Tempest Reinsurance Company Ltd , a subsidiary of ACE Limited , has announced that Kin K Gee has been appointed chief life & health officer reporting to the president and CEO John Engestrom. The newly-created Bermuda-based position will spearhead Tempest Re's expansion into life, annuity and health reinsurance in North America. His last post was president and COO of Swiss Re Life & Health North America, He is a graduate of New York's College of Insurance.

"Having Kin join the ACE Group as head of Tempest Re's Life & Health Division completes the search for three senior reinsurance executives to implement the company's expansion plans to become a leading global multiline reinsurer,'' said ACE chairman and CEO Brian Duperreault. "The ACE Group now has a property and casualty reinsurance unit in Stamford, Connecticut already writing business and we are in the process of applying for a UK property & casualty branch licence of Tempest Re.'' *** SAMSON TO STRENGTHEN THE ACE GROUP APP Samson to strengthen the ACE Group ACE Bermuda has announced the appointment of Pierre Samson as president and chief underwriting officer of its newly formed ACE Financial Solutions International, to provide non-traditional insurance and finance-related solutions to international companies facing complex risk management issues.

His previous post was senior vice president, tailored risk solutions.

"He and his team, all of whom will now work under the FSI banner, have generated excellent results for the ACE Group. Under Pierre astute management, we fully expect this Division to go from strength to strength,'' said ACE Bermuda president and CEO Gary Schmalzriedt.

"There is continuing interest on the part of our clients in risk solutions that help manage their enterprise risk as well as their traditional risk. FSI will enhance ACE's ability to provide innovative risk financing solutions on a global basis.'' *** MULCOCK ELECTED SAL DIRECTOR APP Mulcock elected SAL director Local building supplies firm SAL limited has informed the Bermuda Stock Exchange that Michael Mulcock was elected a director. The election was made at SAL's annual general meeting held June 6.

*** THREE LAWYERS JOIN LOCAL LAW FIRM APP LEG Three lawyers join local law firm Milligan-Whyte & Smith has announced three lawyers have joined their local law firm. Nicole Stoneham joined the corporate department while Tony Cottle and Timothy Fellowes QC joined the Litigation Department. Ms Stoneham is a Bermudian and former Crown counsel who has worked on the civil side of the AG's Chambers advising the Ministry of Finance since 1995. She obtained her LLB from Buckingham University and undertook a pupilage at the Chambers of Rock Tansey QC in London.

Mr. Cottle has been a barrister in London for more than 20 years specialising in civil and commercial litigation. He was born in Trinidad and obtained his LLB in England.

Mr. Fellowes was called to the Ontario Bar in 1954 and was made a QC in 1969.

He is a certified specialist in civil litigation. He has lectured in insurance law, sat as a temporary judge in Ontario and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Late last year, two other attorneys joined the firm: Bermudian Leslie Basden from the AG's and former advisor to the Australian Securities Commission Kulen Ratneser .

*** BANK JOB TAYLOR-MADE FOR HIGH-FLYING JANICE APP Bank job Taylor-made for high-flying Janice The Bank of Bermuda has appointed Janice Taylor to the post of senior vice president, balance sheet and risk management. She will also joins the Bank's executive committee.

She joined the Bank in 1996 responsible for asset liability management globally. She has some 18 years experience in the field. In her new role she will oversee the Bank's global risk management function and management of the group balance sheet, reporting to the chief risk management officer Peter McClean.

"The expansion of Jan's role reflects the superior contribution she has made to the Bank. Her appointment underscores the critical importance of the global risk management and group balance sheet functions in today's competitive environment,'' Bank president and CEO Henry Smith said.
