Young Team Bermuda ready for Aruba race

Team Bermuda spent yesterday familiarising themselves with the Junior Caribbean Cycling Championship race course having touched down in Aruba earlier this week, writes Stephen Wright.

The competition starts today with a 18 kilometre time trial before tomorrow's road race.

Bermuda Bicycle Association president, Peter Dunne, who is travelling with the team, said: "The Aruba Cycling Federation has done a great job so far in making our participation problem free.

"After meeting our delegation at the airport yesterday we were transported to very nice accommodations which are proximate to both race courses.

"We will attend the opening reception and technical meeting at the end of today and expect that the hard work of the organisers will make this a well run event.

"Our team looks great and while training this morning were well received by the public. It's great to see them representing Bermuda here in Aruba."

Team Bermuda: Junior (17-18) – Dominique Mayho, Tre-shun Correia; juvenile (15-16) – Marquise Cann, Mark Godfrey; girls (15-18) – Hayley Evans
