Riders gear up for team event

The mountain biking community will gear up for the Bicycle Works Endurance Race this Sunday.Held at Ferry Reach, the four hour team event starts at 3.30pm with team-mates riding alternate laps in an effort to complete as many as possible before the 7.30pm cut off.Organiser and competitor, Grant Goudge, said: “This is the second year of the event. The teams will be made up by the entrants. Last year we had two person teams only, but this year we have seen a demand for solo entries and teams of greater than two.“We will run a handicap system for teams to try to make it a level playing field, as the entry list is not large enough to have loads of sub-divisions and the main focus is to have fun.“The fun comes in the strategy of deciding how long to ride for individuals within the teams. Also that hour or so of darkness adds to the fun.”
