Alexander Copeland Simmons Scholarship Fund during the month of June.

The church aims to raise $10,000 by tomorrow, July 5, when the drive will offically end.

Members of the Allen Temple church established the scholarship in memory of the late Rev. Copeland Simmons who served as the assistant pastor of Allen Temple in Somerset from 1952 to 1981.

The scholarship is used to help young Bermudians entering the ministry, those entering fields of education that support the Christian ministry or those pursuing secondary studies locally and abroad in approved disciplines. To date, seven people have received financial help from the fund.

Details of the scholarship can be verified by contacting the Rev. P.L.

Christopher Haynes at 234-2587, Mr. Reuben Lambert at 234-1856, Mr. Melvin Bassett at 234-0870 or Sandys Secondary School at 234-1346.

Donations may be made payable to the Allen Temple AME Church and marked "Scholarship''.
