Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said Shane Weeks, of Southampton, had been a pillion passenger on a motorcycle stopped at about midnight on August 21 for speeding.

The officers later learned the driver of the vehicle had given Weeks' name, while Weeks had given the driver's name, Sgt. Osborne said.

When asked if he had anything to say, Weeks insisted he had not given his friend's name to the officers.
