In a story accompanying a feature on Centre Re's parent Zurich Insurance, the magazine described Centre Re as an American subsidiary of Zurich and said it was a "niche player par excellence''. Mr. Gluckstern was described as a "financial wizard''.
Centre Re started with capital of $250 million in 1988,'' the story said.
"Since then it has been unstoppable.'' Reporting that Centre Re's assets have since grown to $4.5 billion, it notes the impact newly formed affiliate Zurich Reinsurance Centre is having on the property casualty reinsurance market.
With $300 million raised in its initial public offering last month, the company is already "the biggest in its niche'', it said.
