The basics: Gherdai Hassell, 18 years of age; S4, The Berkeley Institute, Deputy Head Girl, Prefect; Deputy Head Candy Striper.

My family is full of girls! My immediate family and extended family consists of all females. Therefore my only male cousin is very protective of his girls.

My favourite in-school activity is visiting with my guidance counsellor. She listens to me and gives me great advice.

My favourite after-school activity is doing yoga. It is very therapeutic. It is one of my favourite things to do, other than writing.

My favourite music is good music. I have an eclectic taste in music. Basically, any genre that is creative and reflective of the artist's musical talent.

My favourite places to shop are vintage stores where I can find original vintage clothing for great prices! Places where there aren't six of the same item on the rack. I like to be different.

The thing that irritates me the most are people that make excuses for their incompetence.

I'd like to pursue a career in the medical field. Bermuda is in desperate need of some Bermudian nurses and doctors so I plan to make my contribution where it is needed.

Message to my peers: Who you are is not what you wear, or what you look like, where you live, or who your friends are. Who you are is your character. It is what qualities you possess. It is what makes you as a person not as an image. It is your temperament, which will make or break you as a person.
