Clyde Ian Saltus, 23, of Happy Valley Road, pleaded guilty in October to stealing a motorcycle from a rental shop and two counts of theft.
Saltus' accomplice, Sean Albert Eugene Smith, was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and must also serve 18 months probation.

The men made off with a Rhode Island man's knapsack containing a camera and wallet, and an Englishwoman's handbag which had a camera, purse, and sunglasses.
Police arrested both men the same day and they admitted doing the crime "for the excitement of it''.
The men were employed by Rent-It-All and were erecting a tent when they stole the keys and the $1,200 cycle on two successive days.
Saltus' lawyer, Philip Perinchief told Mr. Francis his client had accepted that he deserved a time of imprisonment and argued that a nine-month suspended sentence for assault did not need to be activated.
"He had six weeks to go on the suspended sentence period,'' Mr. Perinchief added. "To be frank he expected some incarceration. It's a matter of how much time. My client has a different history from Mr. Smith.''
