Man hurt in collision
suffering head injuries in collision with a car on Middle Road near the junction with Burnt House Hill in Warwick.
The mishap happened just before 7. p.m. on Sunday. Doctors did not consider the cyclist's injuries to be life threatening but he was detained after an operation.
In an unrelated incident, a 21-year-old American cadet from the visiting ship State of Maine was treated in the ship's infirmary for cuts, bruises, a chipped tooth and a possible concussion after he lost control of his cycle on North Shore Road on Sunday.
It appears that he was riding in a westerly direction when he braked for an obstacle in the road.
He then lost control and suffered his injury. The accident took place around 2.30 p.m. between Blackwatch Pass and Charles Lane, Pembroke.
