I want to work with local artists
Bermudian international reggae sensation Collie Buddz said he wants to work with local artists to get local talent out there.
Speaking to this newspaper after his performance at the Master of the Arena Concert, Mr. Buddz expressed his interest in working with various local artists.
Collie is already working two local artists and friends of his - C'Daynger and Roach. They are both recording with Harper Digital.
Roache is featured on Collie's album on the song "Sensimilia". C'Daynger's credits include "Bun Down Di System".
"We'll be doing some work with C'Daynger and Roache trying to get them where I am. I see bright futures for both of them," he said.
He noted there are many talented people in Bermuda and would like to see them achieve similar succes.
"Really what I'm doing is looking out for local artists. I really want to work with Troy Anthony. I liked Jazel. Oh and Ninja Cutty. Collie went on to give praise to Ninja Cutty saying: "Cutty's been my idol since I was young. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here. He's a big inspiration."
The recording artist also named Corvin Meloday, saying he enjoys his music.
However, Mr. Buddz warned the artists that the industry isn't all the glitz and glamour.
"Big up to all the local artists. I wish them all the best because this industry is cut throat. I got lucky."
In addition to the artists named above, Collie Buddz has also worked with reggae band Homegrown. They will back him on Sunday at the Non Mariners Race at Mangrove Bay.
