Butterfield Travel wound up
week and the assets are being sold. Most of the five employees of the company have found jobs elsewhere said Barry Capuano, president of CapCar Enterprises Ltd. CapCar has been brokering the sell offs for Mr. Evans.
"The travel agency was no longer a viable concern,'' Mr. Capuano said yesterday. "Everything else is doing fantastic.'' CapCar still has Globe Press Printing Co., Globe's building on Euclid Ave., and hotel property Longtail Cliffs on South Shore Rd. to sell.
Last year Mr. Evans decided to retire and put a large portfolio of local interests up for sale.
In March Michael Freisenbruch and Meyer Agencies Ltd. purchased a majority interest in Mr. Evans' Harnett & Richardson Insurance Agency and bought the Harnett & Richardson building on Front Street.
