ACE reveals corporate restructuring
International Business Association (BIBA), Wendy Davis Johnson into the fold in the newly-created post of director of corporate communications. Ms Davis Johnson leaves BIBA for ACE in September, where she will have overall responsibility for the strategic management of the group's corporate communications and public relations. The move comes as ACE seeks to further distinguish between ACE Ltd., the holding company, and its primary insurance subsidiary, ACE Insurance Co., Ltd. The parent company's chairman, president and CEO, Brian Duperreault said yesterday, "Our acquisitions and diversification have prompted us to look at the manner in which the general corporate structure of the ACE group of companies is managed. Our restructuring is designed to position ACE for future growth.'' ACE is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction for the group, which also includes independent operating units, Bermuda-based property catastrophe firm, Tempest Reinsurance Co. Ltd. and ACE's London operations.
Another key change for the group is the promotion of Dominic Frederico to the presidency of ACE Insurance. Mr. Frederico joined ACE in January 1995 as executive vice president, financial lines before becoming executive vice president, underwriting in December 1996. Mr. Duperreault said, "The reorganisation of this subsidiary will play a vital role in preparing the ACE group of companies for the new millennium.'' Other promotions in ACE Insurance include Ed Connolly to senior vice president, claims/legal; Kirk Edmunds to vice president, information technology & services; and, Pandora Wright as vice president, human resources.
