Roberts gets Ace Tempest post

The Ace Tempest Re Group has announced the appointment of Steve Roberts as managing director of its Ace Tempest Re International business, which includes operations in London, Zurich, Sao Paulo and Shanghai.

Effective immediately, Mr. Roberts will have responsibility for the overall management and development of Ace Tempest Re's property and casualty reinsurance business in these territories. He is currently the deputy managing director of the region and will remain based in London, reporting to Jacques Bonneau, president and CEO of Ace Tempest Re Group.

"Steve has played an important role in building our reinsurance company's international casualty presence," said Mr. Bonneau. "As the deputy of our international operations, Steve has demonstrated he has the proven leadership, market knowledge and technical skills required to continue growing this important region for Ace Tempest Re. I'm confident he will serve our company well in this important new assignment."

Mr. Roberts joined Ace Tempest Re in 2005 and has served in his current role since 2008. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Roberts held a number of senior positions with XL Re, where he served as chief casualty underwriter, and various London-based syndicates.
