Thompson's came up big against second-placed Gosling's, scoring a 25-5 win.

Victor Thompson had the top series of 623 to pace the winners to the third high team series of 2,749 while Hank Rawlins led the losers.

After losing the first two games, Tools and Equipment bounced back to score a narrow 151 -141 win over Marlboro. Conrad Lister had the evening's third high series of 600 to pace the winners to the top team series of 2,813 and game of 989.

Signature Card had a 24-6 win over New Mix Ups. A consistent team effort with all five bowlers finishing only 17 pins apart in the series carried them to the win while Clevie Harris had the top score for the losers, including his third high game of 234.

The next match had several honours listed as Terminators escaped with a 16-14 win from the bottom-placed Team Spirit. The losers did manage to post the second high team game of 954 with Robert Darrell rolling the top game of 246 and Vernon Daniels the second high series of 607.

Terminators went one better, rolling the third high team game of 946 but also managed to post the second high team series of 2,800, their high for the season. Robert Flood's second high game of 235 and Howard Francis' 233 game paced the winners.

The final match had Stevedoring Services cruise to a 25-5 win over Spoilers.

POOL POO With the season at the halfway juncture, league standings have tightened considerably with six teams locked in a titanic battle after recent action.

Swinging Doors I and Robin Hood II are tied with 11-2 records, followed closely by Robin Hood I at 10-3.

Robin Hood II moved to the top after beating their first team 206-180, with Freya Robinson scoring 43 points for the victors. Robinson continues to inch closer to grabbing the top female award and the trip to Las Vegas that goes with it next May.

Swinging Doors I, meantime, were easy 212-175 winners over their second team.

Al Alves registered last week's only 50 as he led Vasco I to a 230-167 triumph over Vasco II.

Chance McLean and Trevor Mouchette each scored 47 points as Queens scored a 221-157 win over Vasco III. War Vets II beat their first team 208-159.

NETBALL NET 7-Up Netts opened up a three-point bulge at the top of the Saturday League and look like rolling to yet another title, as their two closest foes faltered over the weekend.

While 7-Up Netts were easing past Olympic Panthers 47-14, PCC and AICO both endured shattering defeats and now need help from others if they are to recoup lost ground on the powerful league leaders.

Cardinals undid PCC with a spirited final-quarter run, keyed by fine shooting from Carol Bean, which resulted in a 31-27 decision.

But the big surprise was sprung by lowly Hamilton Parish, who rose to usurp highly-fancied AICO, winning 42-40.

The other match witnessed North Village handed a default win over Warwick.

BADMINTON BAD The Bermuda Badminton Association will hold its national championships next Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at BAA Gym beginning at 7.00 each evening.

Events include men and women's singles and doubles, mixed doubles and veteran doubles, which is any combination of men over 40 and women over 35.

CRICKET CRI Young Men's Social Club will hold a training session on Sunday morning at 9.30 at Victor Scott field to prepare for the upcoming season. A meeting will be held at the club on Monday night at 8.00 for players and those interested in joining the team.

North Village will have a bye during the quarter-final round of the Crystal Palace Cup on Sunday because St. David's have withdrawn from the Bantam Division.

Just two matches will now be played, Somerset against Wolves at Devonshire Rec. field and Devonshire Colts against PHC at Frog Lane. Paget also have a bye into the semifinals.
