The ruling Progressive Labour Party’s Constitutency 29 branch went all out to honour two of its stalwarts with a dinner, plaques and flowers for significant contributions to the branch and community at large.Honorees were Mrs Lynette Harvey, who was described as being strong, most lively and energetic; and elder statesman Reginald (Reggie) Burrows. Reggie decided to make way for the emergence of younger blood after 35 years as a PLP MP in the House of Assembly, followed by a three-year term in the Senate. Among other things he was cited for his role as a Founding Member and long-time president of the Southampton Rangers Club.Bermuda College lecturer Quinton Sherlock, who is the Branch Chairman, described the well-attended dinner as a “family affair”, coordinated by member Nattie Bean with entertainment provided by branch members.
