Taiwaneses fisher in port

200-mile exclusive fishing zone, yesterday berthed at Penno's Wharf for an expected eight-day stopover.

The 150-foot vessel will have her generator repaired and take on fuel. Last month, the Government rescinded the licences of two Taiwanese vessels who broke the terms of their licence by fishing within Bermuda's 75-mile, no-entry zone.

Also in St. George's, Meyer Agencies reported the arrival yesterday morning of the Bold Venture with 24 containers for the US Navy.

Hamilton docks became busy on Sunday with the arrival of the Oleander from New Jersey.

Container Ship Management said the ship carried 111 dry containers, 24 refrigerator containers, a car and two cargo trailers.

Meyer reported the Monday arrival of the Somers Isle from Florida with 53 dry containers, six refrigerator containers, 51 bundles of lumber, two crates of jet skis, 20 bundles of structural steel, reinforced steel bars and wire mesh and five bundles of PVC pipe. The ship is to sail tomorrow.

The Bermuda Islander arrived on Tuesday from New Jersey with 49 dry containers, eight refrigerator containers, a trailer, a compactor and 6,000 pounds of steel beams. The ship left the Island the same day.

The Bermuda Biological Station research vessel Cape Hatteras was scheduled to sail this Friday for continued oceanographic work.

Next week, Bermuda will be visited by the ship that discovered the Titanic .

Atlantis II is scheduled to arrive on March 7 to conduct deep water certification dives for Alvin , the submersible that has pioneered landmark deep water work including at the site of the Titanic .

Bermuda will this week host a Royal Navy frigate which is en route to a NATO exercise in the western Atlantic.

The HMS Boxer is to berth at the Royal Naval Dockyard on Sunday for a five-day stay.

The 482-foot ship is just coming off another NATO joint maritime exercise in UK waters.

The ship has a complement 18 officers and 242 men.
