Police called to school
Police were called to Spice Valley Middle School in Warwick yesterday afternoon after an incident thought to have involved an upset parent of a pupil who was pregnant.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said officers arrived at the school in Middle Road, around mid-afternoon, and calmed down the situation. No-one was injured and no arrests were made.
Tower approved
Telecom Bermuda was granted final Planning approval to erect a 175-foot communications tower in Devonshire.
The application, received on September 14, for a 175-foot monopole tower on an existing transmitter site and new concrete foundation at No. 35 CedarBridge Lane and No. 40 Schools Drive, was approved by the Development Applications Board (DAB) this week.
The DAB said the Department of Telecommunications had to approve all transmitting devices in the new tower.
