A 40-year-old man was murdered at a home in Midland Heights Crescent, Hamilton Parish, hours after a Supreme Court jury found three men guilty of attacking another man at the same residence 15 months ago.

The man was shot in the chest at approximately 10.30 p.m. last night, three hours after a jury of 12 women convicted Kiwaun Gilbert, Bennett Phipps and Kyle Williams Tannock of wounding Temasgan Furbert with intent to do him grievous bodily harm on the night of February 27 2009. During the course of the trial the jury heard how a group of 25-30 men descended on the same home where the murder took place last night and smashed windows before attacking 23-year-old Mr. Furbert leaving him unconscious.

Early this morning Police announced the man had died as a result of his injuries after being taken to the King Edward Memorial Hospital. They would not reveal the name of the man killed last night because they had yet to notify his family.

Chief Inspector Tracey Adams said a forensic team was already at the scene looking for clues and appealed for witnesses.

When asked about yesterday's verdict in connection with last night's murder he said: "This house was subject to some attack previously, at this point we cannot say what has happened tonight. We are still establishing the facts."

When asked if a Police security detail had been put on the house in the wake of a tense afternoon in Supreme Court yesterday he replied: "The Police have been patrolling this area and other hot spot areas this evening."
