Banks' shares improve: WEEKLY STOCKS UPDATE
enjoying rises in their share prices.
The BSX index rose 6.2 points to close at 961.2 last week with $1.4 million worth of shares trading hands.
Overall, five issues gained, one declined and five were unchanged.
Bermuda Commercial Bank gained 25 cents to close at $5.25 on volume of 1,000.
Bank of Bermuda was up 12.5 cents at $18.125 on volume of 27,347 while the bank's warrants were unchanged at $2 on volume of 9,006.
And Bank of Butterfield gained 12.5 cents to close at $9.50 on volume of 26,823.
Bermuda Home and Bermuda Home preferred were unchanged on volume of 41,337 and 10,548 respectively.
BAS and Telco also closed unchanged.
Masters gaining 50 cents to close at $5 on 500 while Argus advanced 12.5 cents to close at $10.875 on volume of 5,891.
Total share volume was 126,512 worth $1,419,756.75.
