Bank of Bermuda names new directors
Mr. E. Eugene Bean and Mr. Dennis Tucker were appointed effective yesterday, said Mr. Eldon Trimingham, Bank of Bermuda chairman.
The two newest members were appointed at yesterday's board meeting.
They fill vacancies created by the retirements of Mr. Fernance Perry and Mr.
Llewellyn Petty. Mr. Perry retired on November 28, 1994 while Mr. Petty retired on March 27, 1995.
Mr. Bean, born in 1947, joined Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. (BAS) as general manager in 1990 and was appointed president and CEO of BAS and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Aircraft Services Bermuda Ltd., on April 1, 1994, a position he now holds.
He has extensive experience in the airline industry with Eastern Airlines as well as with Continental Airlines. He was general manager with the latter.
He is a member of the executive committee of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and the executive committee of the Bermuda Employer's Council.
Mr. Bean, a graduate of Berkeley Institute and Lafortune Business College, Ottawa, is married and has two daughters.
Mr. Tucker, also born in 1947, has been vice president and general manager of the Sonesta Beach Resort since 1988. He joined Sonesta in 1976.
In 1961, he started his hotel industry career with the Coral Beach Club.
Between 1964 and 1976 he was employed by Bercot Company Ltd. rising to comptroller.
During his career Mr. Tucker, a former United Bermuda Party Senator, has s held many professional, government and community posts.
He is president of the Employer's Council and president elect of the Bermuda Hotel Association.
Mr. Tucker is married and has one daughter.
