Tierney returning after breast cancer fightNEW YORK – Maura Tierney is making a return to TV after dropping out of a series last summer as she battled breast cancer, the FX network said this week. Tierney, best known for her longtime role on the television drama 'ER', will resume her guest spot as the love interest of Denis Leary's firefighter character on the action drama 'Rescue Me', the cable network said. The 45-year-old actress is filming four episodes scheduled to air in 2011, the series' seventh and final season. Tierney "has finished treatment and is doing very well and is happy to move forward with the next phase of her life," said her spokeswoman, Christina Papadopoulos.

Seinfeld, Hamm to dissect 'Curb'

LOS ANGELES – Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Hamm and Seth Green are helping to deconstruct 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. The stars are part of 'Curb: The Discussion', a TV Guide Network companion series to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. The Larry David comedy is coming to the network in June. A celebrity panel will watch each episode of the comedy and discuss ethical issues raised by the unorthodox behaviour of David's character. 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' cast member Susie Essman moderates the panels.

NBC renews 'Marriage Ref', two other shows

LOS ANGELES – Three new NBC television reality shows are coming back for another season. The network said this week that it's renewed 'The Marriage Ref', 'Minute to Win It' and 'Who Do You Think You Are?' for the 2010-11 season. Two of the shows have celebrities behind them: Jerry Seinfeld is executive producer of the comedy panel series 'The Marriage Ref', while Lisa Kudrow has that role for 'Who Do You Think You Are?' which looks at stars' family trees. 'Minute to Win It', with TV chef Guy Fieri as host, is a competition series with a top prize of $1 million.
