Cann and Borden named in squad for Windies' clash

Lionel Cann and Delyone Borden have been recalled to the Bermuda squad for next week's Triangular Series in Canada.

The pair had been left out of earlier squads this year after failing to attend training when requested.

They have also been missing from practice for most of this week, however the loss of Chris Foggo and James Celestine has left the Bermuda Cricket Board with little option but to include the pair.

Bermuda will take a 14-man squad to Canada, where they will face a West Indies side led by Chris Gayle.

The Jamaican batsman had originally decided to step down as captain on July 22, but has now changed his mind.

Gayle had been at odds with West Indies selectors over their experiment to go with untried youngsters during this year's Test and One Day International (ODI) series against Australia in the Caribbean.

The aggressive batsman argued that there were "a lot of things happening" he knew nothing about regarding team selection ahead of the Windies' ODI series against the Aussies.

However, Gayle has seemingly had a change of heart and is now set to lead the Windies when they take on ICC Associates Bermuda and Canada.

Meanwhile, the WICB have already named a 14-man squad for the tournament.

Missing are star batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul (English County commitments) and exciting all-rounder Dwayne Bravo who has been sidelined through injury (ankle).

The Windies have included Brendan Nash, the Australian-born batsman, in their squad.

Nash, 30, relocated to the Caribbean a year ago. He was born in Western Australia and played first-class cricket for Queensland for seven seasons before losing his state contract last June.

He decided to try his luck in Jamaica, who his father Paul had represented in swimming at the Olympic Games, and had a successful first campaign.
