Xavier foiled again by wind
the Bermudian sprinter was foiled by an excessive wind reading.
And once again the 24-year-old will have to do it all over again if he is to qualify for the Olympics.
After recording a 10.19 second clocking during Tuesday's 100 metres at the Arizona High Series meet in Flagstaff that -- if legal -- would have placed him well under the `A' time of 10.20, James returned to record a 20.87 in the 200, which was under the mark of 20.9 set by the IAAF.
James won his heat coming from lane eight.
"They stuck me out there in eight, so I said `These guys are going to have to come catch me today... then I blew `em all away,'' said the affable youngster.
"I took it out hard and blew it out coming home. I'm feeling good. It's just a matter of going out there and doing it when the conditions are right.'' James will run either the 100 or 200 today, depending on how he recovers.
Fellow Bermuda sprinter Devon Bean ran in a latter heat and is believed to have been timed in 21.5.
