Rangers entered the day tied on points at the head of the table with Devonshire Colts, who were held to a draw against Prospect, and Wolves. But when the day ended Rangers managed to create some breathing space by taking over the sole leadership.

The westenders wasted no time in taking the initiative and virtually put the result out of reach by the interval, scoring all four goals in the opening half.

Henry Santucci opened the scoring after 17 minutes and Sean Brangman made it 2-0 a minute later. The third strike came from Santucci after 29 minutes and Jonathan Bean struck the final blow on the stroke of half time — ending a frustrating period for Wolves goalkeeper Sergio Augustus.

Wolves’ defence was more composed in the second half but Rangers’ remained tight in the back and refused to yield and allow any goals against.Prospect 1 Dev. “I was the keeper-sweeper out there today and I truely enjoyed it,” he said last evening.

Kuma Smith gave Colts a lead after 20 minutes but Social levelled just before the break.
