The most beautiful and powerful words on the planet
As I grow older, the more I believe that some people appear in my life not merely by chance; they carry for me some very important message that I need to recognise and understand.
When I travel to Miami, I always visit Wynwood Walls. It is a one-of-a-kind outdoor museum showcasing large-scale vivid, colourful and unique graffiti by some of the world’s best-known street artists.
I always find a beautiful and strong image that deeply impresses me and makes me think.
So it was this time. I saw a bright blue wall with a portrait of a happy Bob Marley with the word, “Loveism”.
I stopped and looked at it for a long time. There was something special about this image.
“How fascinating! I’ve never heard this word Loveism before. I have to Google it right now,” I thought.
This is what I found: “Loveism is based off two human rights — the right to know the truth and the right to love. As human beings we have the ability to control our emotions. As a Loveist, your responsibility is to ensure love is the emotion you convey as much as humanly possible.”
I stood a long time looking at this painting and the clear sky above it.
I remembered how often in the grey rain of Vancouver or the snow of Moscow I started my day with Bob’s music to cheer me up. It always makes me dance and smile.
The next day I celebrated my birthday with my friends. I happily hugged and kissed my beloved friend Abby.
I met her on a deserted beach on my birthday last year and we immediately became friends.
I asked her “How are you? What’s new?”
Abby smiled and said to me, “I began to believe in a new religion.”
“What?” I exclaimed, and thought how she never ceases to amaze me.
“It’s called Loveism,” she continued.
I was stunned. I could not believe it. I saw the word for the first time yesterday and today I find out I have a friend who believes in it. It felt like a surprise present for me.
I asked her to tell me more about it. I was so puzzled.
“Is it even possible to love everyone? Even a bad person?” I was suspicious and curious.
“I am trying and yes, it is difficult. What helps me is breathing. I inhale deeply and when I exhale, I exhale love and peace. I repeat ‘I love you’ and I smile,” she explained to me and her eyes were sparkling.
I love you: the most beautiful and powerful words on the planet. Every person is dreaming to hear them and of being loved and giving love.
It does not take much to think and say “I Love you” — and then do as your heart guides you.
“You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamt possible.” — Bob Marley
