Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick has opened its own pharmacy, responding to demand from their customers.The 144-square-foot space started serving customers in late December and is part of a larger renovation of the store. The new pharmacy is located on the right just as customers enter the front doors.“The customers demanded it,” said Zach Moniz, Lindo’s Family Foods manager, when asked why they decided to open the new space. “Warwick is the most heavily populated parish in Bermuda and having a pharmacy at Lindo’s gives our customers a convenient, one-stop shop experience.”Prior to the new Lindo’s pharmacy, the closest pharmacies for local residents were either in Whites in Warwick or Paget Pharmacy in Paget.The new Warwick pharmacy will be staffed by two full-time Bermudian pharmacists and managed by Head Pharmacist Stephanie Simons who has more than 20 years pharmacology experience in Bermuda. Ms Simons also oversees the pharmacy at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire.“The pharmacy at Lindo’s in Devonshire has been doing well over the last eight years and we felt that offering the same service here in Warwick was an obvious next step,” added Mr Moniz.In addition to prescription fulfillment and counselling, the new pharmacy carries a variety of health and wellness products including over-the-counter medications and vitamins as well as personal care, first aid and beauty items.Renovations at Lindo’s Warwick have been ongoing and include the replacement of the refrigeration system, installation of energy efficient lighting and interior design changes such as new signage and shelving. The entire project, which is under the direction of Dawn Dunstan, interior designer with Linberg & Simmons is expected to be completed by Spring.“We are always looking for ways to reinvent ourselves,” said Mr Moniz. “We diligently try to keep up with customer demands in both the products we offer and the shopping atmosphere we provide. With this renovation we are creating a convenient shopping experience in an environment that is warm, friendly and modern.”The new pharmacy will be open during regular store hours, including 8am to 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8am to 8pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
