Rangers and Colts continue fight for top spot

Although both have already gained promotion, Ireland Rangers and Devonshire Colts continued their battle for first place in the First Division with victories yesterday.
At Malabar, leaders Ireland Rangers, who head the tables by three points over second-placed Colts, edged St. George’s Colts with the visitors taking a first-half lead through young Rickai Dickinson. But the home side rallied in the second half and won the contest via goals by Sean Brangman and veteran Johnny Bean.

Third place Southampton Rangers fought hard to brush aside United after the latter took a 1-0 lead through John Richmond after 17 minutes. But the teams remained level at the break with Rangers netting through Jermaine Dill after 43 minutes.
Shaun Williams put Rangers 2-1 ahead after 49 minutes but hard-fighting United levelled through Jerry Laws from the penalty spot. But two late goals from Anthony Rocker and Morricko Iris steered Rangers to victory.
