All systems go, reports BSX
on January 1 as the date rolled over the year 2000 overnight.
"All systems are go,'' a Bermuda Stock Exchange spokeswoman reported to the Reuters news service.
The stock exchange was bitten by the Y2K bug in December when a daily trade report produced for publication in The Royal Gazette listed dividend payout dates for two issues as 1900 instead of 2000.
The glitch, since fixed, occurred when the exchange switched to an older operating system while making upgrades to its new BEST system.
The exchange also was shut down for a day on November 9 after its upgraded BEST computer trading system failed, following a software upgrade.
The Bank of Bermuda and the Bank of Butterfield, on their respective Internet Web pages, also reported systems were up and running.
